Gandhi once said “be the change you want to see in the world” and this is something I try to live by daily...
...and one of the changes I want to see dearly is women (and men) making peace with their own beauty, I want to see girls growing up thinking they are pretty instead of inappropriate, I want boys to grow into men having realistic ideals.
I see everyone as beautiful, but the beauty industry keeps bombarding us with impossible ideals of beauty…. and this scares me for my children growing up into a world that is “at war” with their own image, only so corporations can sell more… more beauty products, clothes, slimming programs… you name it!
As a photographer, I don’t want to be part of this energy. Instead, I want to help everyone see how beautiful they are through my lens and celebrate this with them.
every project is a new adventure into which each of us brining elements of ourselves. This chemistry creates something new every time.
On a personal note, I don’t filter very well and have a direct wire from my brain to my mouth, I live constantly at 120% with my emotions at the tip of my tongue, I have bad eye sight and generally see the world with brutal honesty. I think all these elements combine together to create images that are true to their subject… YOU!
